| Seduction of Sirena 12" high Edition: 12 Price: contact artist bronze |
| Sirena was a young girl who lived on the island of Guam during Spanish times. She was from the village of Agana near the Minondo river, where fresh spring water met the river and flowed into the ocean. One fateful day, Sirena's mother sent her to get coconut shells to be used as coal for the iron. Oblivious to time and duty, Sirena could not resist the refreshing Minondo river. There she swam while her mother called impatiently. Finally, Sirena's mother called out: "Since Sirena loves the water more than anything, she should become a fish!" Sirena's godmother, fearing that the curse might become true, cried out: "Leave the part that belongs to me!" To find out Sirena's fate, see the "Legend of Sirena". |
